STRATEGIC FOCUS AND ADDED VALUE: VISION OF A STRATEGIC SOLUTION PARTNER FOR EXPORTERS

Established in 1987 as Türkiye’s official export credit agency, Türk Eximbank advanced its strategic approach in 2025 with the goal of maximizing its contribution to Türkiye’s economy. Instead of adopting profit maximization as its primary goal, as is common in conventional commercial banking, the Bank strategically prioritizes sectors and high-tech product exports that will sustain Türkiye’s export performance. In line with this, the Bank has moved beyond being merely a financing institution and has strengthened its position as a strategic solutions partner that guides our exporters in global markets and creates added value.

FINANCIAL SIZE AND SUPPORT VOLUME: FINANCIAL STRENGTH EMPOWERING EXPORTERS

As of 2025, Türk Eximbank maintained its position in the Turkish banking sector, ranking 10th in assets and 8th in credit size, with total assets reaching TL 1.3 trillion. The fact that a high proportion of the Bank’s assets, accounting for 87%, consists of loans is the most concrete indicator that resources are being effectively channeled to exporters. With a total support volume of USD 54.2 billion in 2025, the Bank made a significant contribution to exporters in line with Türkiye’s export strategies.

EMPHASIS ON SMEs: BROADENING THE BASE OF EXPORT SUPPORT AND INCLUSIVE GROWTH

Having identified broadening the base of export support as one of its core strategic goals, Türk Eximbank continued to stand by SMEs in 2025. The fact that SMEs constitute 83% of the companies benefiting from the Bank’s support confirms the success of this strategy. The share of SMEs in loans, which was around 10% in 2019, reached 25% in line with implemented policies, making SMEs’ access to finance a focal point for the institution.

SUSTAINABILITY AND GREEN TRANSFORMATION: FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR GREEN EXPORTS

Adapting to the changing dynamics of global trade and complying with regulations such as the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) are at the top of the 2025 agenda. In this context, approximately USD 2 billion in sustainability-related funds, secured through collaborations with multinational institutions like the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, are being directed toward exporters’ green transformation and energy efficiency investments. The goal is to protect the international competitiveness of exporting companies through green transformation by supporting their projects to reduce their carbon footprint with long-term, cost-effective resources.
